Dental Implants—a better, longer-lasting solution for missing teeth
Dental implants are a state-of-the-art new technology that allows your missing teeth to be replaced with biocompatible titanium posts and lifelike porcelain crowns. Once placed and restored, implants function and look exactly like natural teeth, features that our patients greatly appreciate.
We’ve found that many of our patients come to us with questions about how dental implants are placed, why dental implants are different from other tooth-replacement options, and whether they themselves are good candidates for implants.
Hopefully, the information provided here will help to answer some of your questions. Of course, if you’d like more information, you are always welcome to call our Issaquah dental office!
What Are Dental Implants?
The actual “implant” part of a dental implant is a small post crafted from titanium, a biocompatible metal, that is placed surgically in the jawbone. A porcelain crown is then attached to the implant, a process known as restoring the implant. This crown is specially designed to blend in flawlessly with your other teeth, which means that nobody will ever know your secret unless you tell them.
Implant-Supported Bridges
Implant-supported bridges are similar to traditional bridges, but are supported by implants rather than the patient’s adjacent teeth. Implant-supported bridges are used when the patient is missing three or more teeth in a row and are stronger, more durable, and can withstand greater bite pressure than traditional bridges.
A missing tooth can impact your appearance, ability to chew food, and can be costly to fix. Dental bridges offer an affordable solution. We can help you achieve a stunning result that is high quality and natural in appearance. A bridge is a number of crowns connected together that fills the space left by a missing tooth without the need for surgery. It stays above the gum line and is placed on the teeth surrounding the missing tooth. Here are a few reasons why we recommend dental bridges for many of our patients:
- Bridges are generally a less expensive option in comparison to implants.
- They do not require surgery or healing time.
- Offer a natural appearance by matching color, shape and size to your existing teeth.
- You can complete a bridge in just a few visits.
What people are saying
Dr. Kim and her staff were awesome with my 13 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Both kids had only positive things to say about their experience. My 4 year old, normally is very hesitant around strangers, but felt right at home. Dr. Kim was very clear and thorough explaining what procedures were done and treatments for the future.
Lori L.Issaquah, WAI generally have terrible teeth and over the course of 44 years, been to numerous dentists. I’ve experienced all types of dental offices and seen them all…the good, bad and the ugly. However, yesterday was my first time visiting Loving Dentistry and I already have a good feeling about this place. The staff are friendly, carring and seem to be generally concerned about the well-being of its patients. I look forward to the day where I can look back, smile real big with my pearly whites and say, “That was easy.”
Michael C. Issaquah, WAThis is my favorite and only dental place I have. Dr Kim and staff are very patience with me every time . They make good plan for me, and explains very clearly if I don’t understand. Even I live far away I still come back here to check my teeth. I got very good treatment for my teeth. I appreciate for them . 5 star for sure. Best one!
